WE’VE ALMOST REACHED OUR FUNDRAISER GOAL
And it’s all thanks to you! We’re so overwhelmed with all of your generous support toward the Rise Up Surf: Nicaragua GoFundMe. Because of you, we have almost reached our goal of $10,000! At the time of writing this, we were sitting around $8,000 and the donations continue to roll in. We get a notification each time someone makes a contribution and it feels like a warm hug reaching out of our computer screen each time. We can’t even begin to explain how heart-warming it is knowing that we are going to be able to continue supporting our local community, despite having to close the doors earlier than expected. And that’s all on you. You made it possible. And for that, we will forever be grateful.
So, thank you. And you, and you, and you. You’re the best!
It’s also because of you – and all of your heartfelt messages and continued show of support – that we have been working tirelessly to come up with solutions and alternatives in the wake of closing down. We’ve been keeping an eye on the political situation in Nicaragua and have also been doing some globe-trotting in search of potential temporary locations.
It’s with great relief that we can announce the re-opening of Rise Up Surf Nicaragua this winter. Although we are unsure on exact dates and are unable to offer an official report on the current political standing in Nicaragua, we are confident that we can continue operations in either November or December of 2018.
As it stands, it appears that little has changed since the riots quietened down earlier in the year. So, of course, we must insist that you conduct your own research and make travel plans with your own personal safety in mind. Although the conflict never reached the coast, there are obviously still risks associated with traveling to a country in the middle of political strife. We never had issues getting to and from camp, nor did any of our guests, which is why we are willing to re-open the doors. Nicaragua is still our paradise and we want to share that with you.
So as soon as we have more information regarding dates, we will let you know. In the meantime, feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to express your interest so that we can begin to guage how large or small our Rise Up Surf operation will be this year.
Traveling during political upheaval not your cup of tea? No problem! Because we understand that the situation in Nicaragua is still not ideal, and we anticipate that business will be slower than usual, we have also decided to operate Rise Up: On The Road this year.
We asked where you would all like to go, and you answered! Upon your suggestions, Phil, Corina, & Kaya have spent the last month exploring potential locations and are excited to announce the first On The Road location.
So, without further ado, we invite you to join us in Costa Rica!
RISE UP SURF: COSTA RICA RETREAT
As possibly one of the most beautiful places in the world, Southern Costa Rica is home to 2.5 % percent of ALL of the worlds’ biodiversity. Combine the incredible nature with world-class waves and you’ve got yourself a pretty unforgettable adventure! The location is truly magical, and whether or not you surf, it will change your perspective on how you live and interact with the natural world. We are super excited to share it with you!
In November, we will run three week-long retreats at a beautiful surf and yoga retreat space in Costa Rica. The location will remain a secret for but what we really want to know is who is interested from our Rise Up Familia.
The retreat dates are as follows:
November 17th – 24th
November 24th – 1st
December 1st – 8th
Check out more images below and scroll to the bottom of this post to see how you can secure your spot. We can’t wait to host you!
So if you want to join us for a week in paradise, please send an email with your preferred dates to email@example.com and lock in your space before they sell out.
And if you can’t make it on those dates, don’t stress, we will be releasing the next Rise Up: On The Road locations in our October newsletter. So, stay tuned!
