If you haven’t heard already, Rise Up is hitting the road again to the jungle-fringed beaches of Costa Rica.
This surf trip is for those looking for an incredible adventure in nature. When you are not surfing, you can enjoy yoga in a beautiful waterfront shala and explore the abundant jungles that lay on your doorstep.

We will be staying at a beautiful lodge located within the heart of the rainforest where toucans and monkeys are more common than people.
Not only that, you will be surrounded by amazing staff that puts your experience above everything else, and a superstar team of surf coaches who are guaranteed to help you take your surfing to the next level.
Let us introduce you to some of the team…

Francisco (surf instructor) is the action man hailing from Spain. He has called Rise Up home for the past few years and is an all-round host and surf instructor; making sure guests are always happy in the water, at the bar, or wherever it may be.

Aaron (surf instructor) is by far one of the best surfers in the region, bringing a vibrant local spirit. He will no doubt help you improve your surf and make sure you’re having the best time ripping on the waves.

Matt (surf instructor) grew up and learned to surf in England before moving to Australia in 2005. He is a high-performance coach who mainly focuses on coaching junior surfers and introducing them to the contest scene. Matt has been with our crew for about 2 years and will be at all our upcoming retreats.

Jordan (surf instructor) is one of the most well-rounded of our staff, and a local in the area. He will guide you to the best waves and take your surf to the next level—and not only that, Jordan will guide you through the jungle to waterfalls and have a smile on his every step of the way.

Serap (yoga teacher) is coming to us from Switzerland. Her teachings are based on her training in hatha, vinyasa krama, yin and Kalarippayattu. Her approach is to awaken her students’ consciousness and help them tune into their true nature. She will keep you balanced and focused during your daily activtiy at rise up on the road.

Emy (photographer – @salty_see) is an Australian Surf and Underwater Photographer living in Sayulita, Mexico. In May 2018, she quit her full time design job to pursue her dream of living in Latin America, being a Full Time photographer, speaking spanish fluently, surfing everyday and creating wonderful human connections.

Corina (owner) is our fun-loving, do-it-all girl from Switzerland. She loves people and has a knack for planning mind-blowing events. She is an organizational master who has taken the operations of Rise Up Surf to a whole new level. Originally from the mountains, Corina has had the opportunity to surf in many amazing countries around the world.

Phil (owner) is driven by his desire to lead a healthy balanced lifestyle, surrounded by good vibes and positive people. After several years traveling in search of waves, Phillip created Rise Up Surf Nicaragua, and is now taking it on the road.

Kaya (head of fun)—of course we can’t fail to mention the best dancer in the crew! Kaya will keep us all entertained for hours on end. Her laugh lights up a room and she will no doubt keep you smiling 24/7.
We still have a few spots left at our upcoming retreats… get in touch to book a surf retreat you won’t forget!
