Packing Checklist

Everything you need and more…

What Should I Bring?

  • Valid passport and $10 USD entrance fee
  • Extra cash – USD as you can exchange money here. You can also withdraw money at the airport
  • Small backpack for day trips
  • Board shorts or comfortable bikini – make sure your swimwear is well-fitted and will not come off in the surf
  • Surf Board – If you have your own board (s) then bring them along
  • Rash guard – we provide rash guards but it is best to bring your own to ensure a more comfortable fit
  • Sunblock and zinc – the best you can find!
  • Sunglasses
  • Hat
  • Sarong
  • Insect repellant – the stronger the better
  • Flashlight or headlamp
  • Light long pants
  • Light long sleeve shirt
  • One pair of sneakers or walking boots for outdoor activities, such as hiking and volcano boarding
  • Evening attire – bring along a nice outfit for going out, in case you want to hit the town one night!
  • Comfortable clothes for doing yoga
  • Camera
  • Any medication you may require
  • A good book for down time
  • Basic first aid (Band-Aids, gauze, Aspirin, Neosporin, Imodium, anti-allergy)
  • Toothpaste and toothbrush
  • Waterproof jacket for any adventures on a rainy day (only from May to September)
  • If you have been to South America or Africa in the past 6 months, please make sure you have a Yellow Fever vaccine certificate.
  • Shampoo and conditioner – we highly recommend you bring all natural products, if possible, as our water ultimately runs back in to the ground water.
  • Water bottle – clean filtered water is always available. Having your own bottle will reduce our use of cups and plastic bottles. 
  • USB or hard drive to store photos and videos we will take during your visit. Please ensure it is compatible with Macs.
  • If you have space in your bags, we are always in need of donations for the local pre-school and our partner organization, Waves of Hope.  Helpful items include: old clothes, books, school and art  supplies, baseball equipment, footballs, and surfing equipment.
  • Please note that Wi-Fi can be unreliable at our camp.  If it is essential to access the internet, we recommend that you get an overseas phone plan before coming, or simply disconnect and enjoy the company of good people.
