Surf and Yoga Retreat in Guatemala
When we first visited the little fishing village of El Paredon, we fell in love with the dusty village roads, black sand beaches, and dreamy west-coast sunsets. We’re confident you’ll feel relaxed, welcomed, and surrounded by nothing but good vibes and empty waves in Guatemala.
El Paredon is a laid-back surfing oasis with some of the most consistent surf in Guatemala. We love this spot as the swell works on all tides and is perfect for experts, intermediates, or beginners learning to surf. You will be surfing mostly beach breaks and river mouths with some opportunities to surf secret point breaks if the swell is right. Because the beaches in Guatemala face directly south, they pick up just about every swell along the Pacific, so not a day goes by where the waves are not surfable. If you want to wake up steps from empty waves, join us in Guatemala before the crowds arrive.

"I joined Rise Up in Guatemala and it has been the highlight of my year so far! I guess what really makes Rise Up exceptional from other surf camps though, is the core people. The owners, Phil and Corina treat their staff and guests well and it shows. The instructors and resort staff are happy to be there and it translates well in the service they provide to the guests. And all the guests always feel welcomed so if you're travelling solo you never really feel awkward or alone. Lastly, the friends I've met (guests and staff alike) throughout the three times I went are amazing people and we all still keep in touch. So yeah, book that trip and join the Rise Up Familia, you won't regret it."GenSolo Traveler
"This is my 2nd but for sure not my last Rise Up Surf experience. After joining Rise Up in Nicaragua in 2018, I decided to stay with them in Guatemala for this year’s adventure. And I loved it! From the moment you step out of the airport everything is taken care of. Corina, Fran and the entire Rise Up team made sure we all had the best time ever. From the top surf coaching by their team as well as local surf instructors, the perfectly matching yoga, the best food, super fun activities (wake surfing, boat trip, SUP, cooking classes) to the accommodation, it was just perfect and my dream surf holiday. Oh, and not to forget about all the awesome new friends from all over the world I made. I definitely recommend you book with Rise Up Surf if you want to surf in a special part of the world with great people and progress your surfing no matter what level you are at right now. But be aware that you might get addicted to staying with Rise Up or fall in love with any of the locations you stay at. It might change your life…"BeataSolo Traveler
"As always, Rise Up has delivered a fantastic retreat. Every aspect of the week surpassed expectations. The resort was beautiful with such a lavish pool! Jamie outdid herself, as always, providing the most amazing meals, and fresh juices to power us through all of our activities. While the surf was not the easiest for me, the top notch instructors made sure that everyone focused on their surf goals, got better, and had FUN! After all our hard work paddling, our restorative yoga classes were the perfect solution. As an extra activity, we had the opportunity to visit a local NGO, La Choza Chula. We learned about their great work in the community and then had the opportunity to visit a local home for a cooking class, such a great experience! I cannot recommend Rise Up Surf enough, and will continue to go back year after year. In the meantime, I will continue to pour over all the beautiful photos taken by their surf photographer!"AraTraveled with a group
